Upcoming: The DC Queer Studies Symposium

The New Gay readers with an academic bent should be interested in attending the D.C. Queer Studies Symposium next week. The two-day conference is on April 17th and 18th at the University of Maryland, and its FREE!

Local graduate students will be presenting on a number of topics. Learn about the queer history of the Fantastic Four (Ramzi Fawaz, Flame On!), reconnect with your favorite hottie from the red line (Jed Brubaker presenting on craigslist Missed Connections), or hear Perry Guerrilla uncover the female queerness and fetish in Othello. The Symposium is also featuring academics including Siobhan Somerville, Roderick Ferguson, and their inevitable groupies.

Find out more at The D.C. Queer Studies Symposium website.
