Ms. Cavanaugh Presents: A Ladies Happy Hour
Ladies, are you having trouble meeting other women in the city? Me too.
After reading the recent posts lamenting the difficulty of meeting other lesbians, I decided to throw a happy hour, so we can meet each other in a stress-free zone. The event will be on Tuesday, May 13, at Red Derby in Columbia Heights, from 7-9 p.m.
I'll be showing up alone, so don't feel awkward if you don't have a friend to drag along. The point of the happy hour is that after this, we'll be able to go to events at Phase 1 or other venues and know a lot of the other women there.
I created a Facebook invite so I can keep track of who's coming and so I know who to look out for.
Oh and Red Derby is cash only, though there's an ATM in the bar.

Looking for stress free, no pretense kind of fun with a diverse group of people? Try Girls Rock! DC events... support a good cause and have fun at the same time. I went to their "Funk n' Brunch" (a benefit party) on Sunday afternoon and it was the most fun, chill, genuinely awesome time that I've had out in a long time... and seeing as I go out quite a bit, that says a lot. I hope they have that kind of event again (hint hint nudge nudge)!
That said, back to the blog at hand... enjoy tonight's happy hour. I wish I could attend, but I'll be in class.

I love Red Derby! Everything you could ever want to drink from a can. I'll be there. Also, Delegate Watkins, dude in a wheelchair on The Wire, is rumored to hang out there.
