The photos really put me there-I swear I was smelling that indescribable stank of the french quarter anywhere near bourbon (whenever I think of NOLA, the olfactory hallucinations just start rolling in). A few of those pics are classic-esp the portraits like the angel leaning on the car or the odd couple in front of rue royal psychics. I won't tread on familiar ground and comment on pathos and the city's twisted magnetism, but you captured it pretty well... <BR/>I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who finds the people watching at corner pocket amusing-thats all i go there for, I swear! <BR/>And don't despair-every time I have been down there since the storm, she looks a little bit better, a little more like her old self. I've even had a hell of a good time and a hot fling with an amazingly attravtive guy i met at parade, the kind of guy who doesn't exist in DC...runnybabbitnoreply@blogger.com
